    NIRF 2025 New Rules

The Education Ministry introduced new rules to the NIRF ranking scheme, which makes it even better. The Education Ministry added a negative marking system for the retraction of research papers, which makes the implementation of evaluation norms stricter.

Previously, the ranking methodology was based on six core parameters, which are - Teaching, Learning, and Resources, Research & Professional practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach & Inclusivity, and Perception.

Now, the department has introduced new parameters, such as sustainable development goals and indicators of the National Education Policy (NEP), including the Indian Knowledge System, adoption of regional languages, and multiple entry and exit options, which were introduced last year.

For aspirants, NIRF 2025 rankings offer a validated way to compare colleges based on trusted data and transparent parameters. Institutes constantly try to improve their ranks, leading to overall improvement in Indian higher education, making NIRF rankings a reliable reference point each year.
