JMI Result 2026 - What is Tie-Breaking Policy?

If two or more candidates obtain the same scores in the JMI entrance exam, then the merit list will be prepared on the basis of the following policy.

• Except for BTech, BArch, and BDS, ties are resolved on the basis of date of birth, with the candidates older in age receiving the higher rank.

• Candidates who achieve high marks in the entrance exam are given a higher rank for interview programmes. If the marks in the written test are the same, the date of birth criteria is used, which means that candidates who are older are given a higher rank.

• The agency administering the test determines the rank for BTech, B.Arch, and BDS programmes.
